Decision: changes to gas and electricity licences regarding appeals to the CMA

Following the publication of our consultation paper on 1 May 2015, the Utility Regulator today publishes a decision paper regarding changes to gas and electricity licences which are a result of the Gas and Electricity Licence Modification and Appeals Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 coming into operation.

The modifications are technical in nature and are made in order to ensure that licence holders and other relevant parties can appeal decisions made by the Utility Regulator to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

In addition, the Utility Regulator publishes notification as Appendix 14 to this decision paper,  under Article 14(2) of the Electricity Order, of our intention to mark Annex 1 on the Power NI licence as not used.  Annex 1 of the Power NI licence refers to the ‘Non Fossil Fuel Obligation’ (NFFO) and we intend to remove it from the licence as the NFFO contracts have now expired.

Copies of all documents can be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of relevant minority languages if required.
