NIAER Oversees Invitation to Bid in the 2004 Non-Fossil Fuel Auction

Following release of Non-Fossil Fuel (NFF) Capacity under contract to NIE for resale to suppliers in Northern Ireland, NIE’s Power Procurement Business has issued invitations to bid under the direction of the Northern Ireland Authority for Energy Regulation

Close of bids: 5pm on Monday 15th March 2004

NIE PPB under the direction of the Authority has issued this Invitation to Bid in the 2004 Non-Fossil Fuel Auction for 10 capacity units of 1 MW each.

These 10 capacity units are being auctioned from the NIE PPB stock of NFF capacity, contracted under Government obligation. At present 40MW of capacity is under contract, generating around 120GWh each year.

This auction gives suppliers in NI an opportunity to contract with customers for the supply of renewable source electricity to customers, from April 2004. In the case of supply to non domestic customers the Climate Change Levy may be avoided.

Bidders must register their bid with Ofreg by 5.00pm on Monday 15th March 2004.

Note: Intention to bid must be registered by Wednesday 10th March 2004.
