INVITATION TO BID in the NON-FOSSIL FUEL AUCTION

The Director General for Electricity Supply in Northern Ireland has issued this Invitation to Bid in the 2002 Non Fossil Fuel Auction for 40 capacity units of 1MW each.
NIE’s Power Procurement Business has been obliged by Government to contract with generators who use non-fossil fuel sources. At present 40MW of capacity is under contract, generating around 120GWh each year.
The auction will enable successful bidders to avoid the Climate Change Levy when supplying non domestic customers with this renewable energy from April 2002.
Bidders must register their bid with Ofreg by 5.00pm on Tuesday 19th March
Note: intention to bid must be registered by: Friday 15th March.
