The Utility Regulator today publishes notice of its consultation on licence changes necessary to facilitate the implementation of Fuel Switching agreements. These agreements are focused on ensuring that generators are able to switch fuels when requested to do so by the System Operator in order to maintain the security of electricity supply.

The Utility Regulator today publishes notice of its consultation on licence changes necessary to facilitate the implementation of Fuel Switching agreements.  These agreements are focused on ensuring that generators are able to switch fuels when requested to do so by the System Operator in order to maintain the security of electricity supply.

The changes proposed concern Condition 29 ‘Economic Purchasing of System Support Services’ of the SONI Transmission Licence and changes to the definition of ‘System Support Services’ within SONI Transmission licence and all electricity generation licences.

The proposed changes to the relevant extracts of the licences are marked up in red in Appendix A of the linked paper.
