Following discussion with the electricity industry, it is the opinion of the Director General of Electricity Supply that a generation security standard be re-instated in Northern Ireland due to changing circumstances as a result of potential further electricity market opening. A consultation process will now be undertaken in order to decide how best to progress such a standard.
