Utility Regulator consults on Gas to the West conveyance licence conditions

Published:

Consultation opened on . Closing date at 17:00.

Summary

The Utility Regulator today publishes notice of its intention to grant two conveyance licenses to the preferred applicants in the Gas to the West licence application competition.

A paper presenting an overview of the proposed licence conditions is published alongside this notice. A copy of each proposed licence (high pressure and low pressure) also accompanies this notice.

Following consideration of any responses received to this notice, the Utility Regulator will finalize the licenses for grant to the preferred applicants. We expect the licenses to be granted in February 2015.

The publication of this notice is the latest stage in the process to award the conveyance licences necessary to extend the gas network to the west of Northern Ireland.  Our decision for the preferred and a reserve applicant for each licence was published in November 2014 and indicated that the preferred applicants for each licence are:

High pressure – Northern Ireland Energy Holdings (Mutual Energy Ltd)
Low pressure – Scotia Gas Networks

Copies of the documents will be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of relevant minority languages if required.
