We are consulting on proposals to modify NIE Networks’ distribution and transmission licences to provide additional allowances which will improve the resilience of the network during severe weather events.
The proposed modifications will also allow NIE Networks to recover some of the costs incurred following severe weather events as pass through costs.
These proposals respond to NIE Networks’ review of network resilience following Storm Éowyn.
At the same time, we are consulting on other minor modifications which will:
- amend limitations on non-locational charging in the distribution licence;
- provide flexibility on the timing of decisions on further IT investment during the RP7 price control period; and
- correct inconsistencies in the drafting of the licences.
