Consultation and Notice on proposed licence modifications to reflect the RP6 price control extension

Today we set out proposed changes to the transmission and distributions licences for the RP6 price control extension for NIE Networks. This RP6 price control extension covers the period 1 April 2024 to 1 April 2025.

We are proposing several licence modifications in the consultation document. In our RP7 price control approach document we accepted NIE Networks’ request to extend RP6 by one year to allow further time to prepare their RP7 Business Plan. This allows NIE Networks further time to address issues relating to net zero (including decarbonisation and incorporation of renewables).

The price control review sets new limits on the revenue that NIE Networks can recover from customers in order to operate their business for an additional year.

The consultation will close on 24 February 2023, with a decision on licence modifications likely to be published on 27 March 2023.

If you would like to respond, please see the consultation for further information.

In addition, this licence consultation is complemented by four annexes which are outlined below and may be accessed at the respective links.
