Consultation on proposed modifications to Condition 5 of electricity generation licences

Today we have published a consultation on proposed modifications to Condition 5 (‘Security arrangements’) of all electricity generation (including ‘DSU generation’ licences) to include a requirement for a specified quantity of secondary fuel to be available to support situations when there may be a risk to security of supply.

The modifications are proposed to be included in all electricity generation licences (in order to standardise content) but will only apply to thermal generators which (will) have the ability to run on more than one fuel.

The consultation is now open and closes on the 31 August 2022.

If you'd like to respond you can now do so online via CitizenSpace or please see the consultation page for contact information.
