NIE Networks published their Forward Work Plan 2026/2027 in October 2025.
An Evaluative Performance Framework (EPF) is in place for NIE Networks. This was devised as part of the NIE Networks RP7 price control and allows for the evaluation of NIE Networks performance by an independent panel of experts (The panel).
The EPF aims to incentivise NIE Networks to take advantage of new opportunities, proactively progress initiatives in areas that will bring the greatest benefit to Northern Ireland customers and ensure we continually adapt to the emerging energy landscape.
The panel conducted an evaluation of NIE Networks Forward Plan, taking all evidence into account. The panel then submitted their Recommendation Report to us in January 2026 which we have published.
We have carefully considered these recommendations and can confirm that we are in agreement with the panel’s recommendation and endorse the proposed grade of 5.00.
We have written to NIE Networks to advise of our decision which we have also published.
Copies of all documents will be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of relevant minority languages if required.
