The Director General of Electricity Supply for Northern Ireland (DGES) has implemented changes to the structure for trading renewable energy in order to stimulate competition and increase customer choice. These arrangements came into effect on 1 November 2002, and are known as the Renewable Output Factor (ROF) Trading Arrangements.
These changes allow you to choose renewable energy from a number of licensed suppliers, who will supply a 100% renewable product. This product is available to any non-domestic customer in Northern Ireland. You need not change your meter or put in place other special arrangements to participate.
To avail of the option you may choose between three supply companies which are currently active in this market. They are Airtricity, Energia (an NIE affiliate) and ESB. Their contact details are as below:

NIE Supply has elected not to continue to make its Eco Energy Tariff available to business customers. Instead such customers may opt for one of the above suppliers, or may revert to a standard NIE Supply tariff. The DGES will write to customers directly in the next few weeks.
