We have published our latest newsletter which provides an update on our work during May.
It has been a busy and interesting month. Alongside our day-to-day activities, we have been engaging in panel discussions, attending industry events and meeting with a range of elected representatives.
In early May, our Chief Executive, John French, attended the 24th Annual Conference of the International Competition Network in Edinburgh.
On 14 May, John joined our Chair, Rosamund Blomfield-Smith, to participate in Utility Week’s roundtable discussion on Navigating Northern Ireland’s Energy Transition.
We were delighted to host Collaboration Network’s first Belfast Regional Gathering on 21 May. The event saw a full day of cross-sector collaboration, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable consumers.
On the same date, John French attended the UK Regulators' Network Conference with our Director of Price Controls, Elaine Cassidy. During the event, he joined a panel discussion on Regulatory Approaches and Reflections on Growth.
On Tuesday 27 May, John attended an event hosted in Brussels by think tank, The Centre on Regulation in Europe. The session saw the launch of the upcoming report: ‘The Flexibility Challenge in the Energy Sector.’
Our interim Director of Networks and Energy Futures, Brian Mulhern, was pleased to attend NI Chamber’s Green Skills Action Plan Launch event on 29 May.
This month, we published a number of consultations. On 8 May, we gave notice of our intention under Article 10(4) of the Electricity (Northern Ireland) Order 1992 (the Order) to grant an electricity generation licence to Ballyutoag Wind Farm LTD.
On 13 May, we published a combined consultation that represents a further consultation on the Provision of Information (POI) licence modifications.
