NIAER publishes ROI Interface Study commissioned by the Internal Market in Electricity (IME) group

NIAER publishes on behalf of the IME group an interim report prepared by their consultants entitled ROI Interface Study Final report (NERA 05 Aug 04) together with the Modelling Appendix (NERA June 04)

The interim report ROI Interface Study (NERA 13 Nov 03) addressed Part A of the terms of reference, to understand the likely effects of the new Market Arrangements for Electricity (MAE) in ROI on cross border trading (including trading on the Moyle Interconnector) and to identify and specify how the arrangenments for interfacing between the two markets can be optimised for the benefit of N.I. electrcity customers.

This final report ROI Interface Study Final Report together with the associated Modelling Appendix addresses Part B of the terms of reference, to recommend whether the ROI market should be extended to Northern Ireland and if so what would be involved and when would be the opportune time to do so
