Utility Regulator comments on NI Water’s non-domestic water and sewerage charges

The Utility Regulator today commented on NI Water’s announcement on non-domestic water and sewerage charges for the 2017/2018 financial year.

Commenting on the announcement, Utility Regulator Chief Executive, Jenny Pyper said:

“This year, NI Water’s non-domestic customers will see increases to their water and sewerage charges at or below the applicable inflation rate of 2.2%.

“These price increases are in line with the allowances provided for in the price control for 2015-2021, also referred to as PC15. We agree these price limits with the company to ensure that the price paid for water and sewerage services reflects the actual cost of delivering these services to business properties and that charges are fair to all customers.

“We also monitor and approve NI Water’s regulated water and sewerage charges by carrying a review of their annual Scheme of Charges submission.”

This announcement marks the end of an annual review process that is undertaken by the Utility Regulator and NI Water, in consultation with the Department for Infrastructure and the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland.
