Proposed electricity and gas supply licence modifications

Summary
In accordance with Article 14(2) of the Electricity (NI) Order 1992 and Article 14(2) of the Gas (NI) Order 1996 we have published consultations on the proposed licence modifications which reflect the proposals laid out in our ‘Improving the Non-domestic Consumer Experience’ position paper.
The effect of the proposed modifications will be to modify the regulatory framework to enhance protections for Small Business Consumers. The modifications will implement measures in relation to publication of transparent price information, security deposit requirements and deemed contract notice periods.
The modifications are proposed to take effect on 4 February 2026.
Representation with respect to the proposed modifications may be made on or before 5:00pm on 4 August 2025
- Copies of all documents will be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of relevant minority languages if required.
- Your response may be made public by the Utility Regulator. If you do not want all or part of your response or name made public, please state this clearly in the response by marking your response as ‘CONFIDENTIAL’.
