SONI Evaluative Performance Framework: Annual Forward Plan 2026/2027 - call for feedback

The Evaluative Performance Framework (EPF) is now an established process of SONI’s 2020 - 2027 price control. The EPF allows for an evaluation of SONI’s Annual Forward Plan and ultimately their performance.

Our independent panel of experts will soon review the SONI Annual Forward Plan 2026/2027, judging SONI against a set of evaluation criteria as per our published EPF Guidance.

This is the last year of the current price control period. The panel will take into consideration all relevant evidence and, importantly, the views of industry stakeholders.

Written feedback from stakeholders

We encourage stakeholders to provide written feedback on SONI’s Forward Work Plan 2026/2027 and request submissions by close of play on 11 November 2026.

Written feedback can be submitted to Ruairi Liddy:

ruairi.liddy@uregni.gov.uk and cc price_controls@uregni.gov.uk

As per the guidance we will share the stakeholder feedback with the EPF Panel and publish on our website (unless otherwise requested).

Assessment of the Annual Forward Plan

The independent panel will make its assessment of SONI’s Forward Plan for 2026/2027 and submit their report to us by the end of the year.

We will then publish the panel’s report along with our decision on whether to accept the panel’s recommendation.  Our determination of SONI’s Forward Plan will include the calculation of a financial reward (or penalty) using the methodology set out in the EPF guidance.
