Approval of the Ireland-UK TSOs' Proposal for a Methodology for Splitting Long-Term Cross-Zonal Capacity

The Utility Regulator has published its decision to approve the Ireland-United Kingdom TSOs’ proposal for a methodology for splitting long-term cross-zonal capacity. This was submitted in accordance with Article 16 of Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1719 of 26 September 2016, establishing a guideline on Forward Capacity Allocation (the “FCA Regulation”).

The methodology proposes a coordinated approach for splitting long-term cross-zonal capacity between the different timeframes within the Ireland-United Kingdom Capacity Calculation Region.

The IU Regulatory Authorities’ agreement reached on 22 July 2019, attached as an annex to this decision letter, constitutes the reason for the decision.
