Power NI Direction

On 26 May 2022, the Utility Regulator issued a Direction to Power NI in accordance with paragraph 9 of Condition 14 of the electricity supply licence, stating that the licensee is relieved from its obligations under paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 of Condition 14 of the licence in respect of the supply of electricity to only those domestic customers that participate in two specified trials.

The two short-term trials are related to demand response and will involve a small number of Economy 7 customers (maximum 100).

The direction shall take effect on 27 May 2022 and shall continue in force for a period of 18 months thereafter.
