Communications and Stakeholder Manager

Salary

Period of appointment

Job description

Protecting Northern Ireland’s energy and water consumers today and tomorrow is what we do.

At a time of unprecedented energy prices and the challenge of tackling climate change, the work of the Utility Regulator has never been more high profile or important.

There has never been a better time to join us as we look to support the move to net-zero, whilst providing a stable investment environment, develop energy markets and improving consumer protection.

And we are changing too. You’ll be joining an organisation that is growing and transforming to meet the challenges of the future and protecting consumers in a changing world.

Communications and Stakeholder Manager

As Communications and Stakeholder Manager, you will have responsibility for leading the Communications Team; developing and implementing the Utility Regulator’s strategic communications and stakeholder engagement strategies; managing strategic communication and stakeholder risks; and supporting the Chief Executive, Board and Senior Leadership to ensure the Utility Regulator is appropriately positioned to inform and influence the direction of future energy and water policy and regulation in Northern Ireland.

General information

Northern Ireland continues to have an under-representation of women across our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) industries. The Utility Regulator is an Equal Opportunities and Disability Confident Employer. As people with a disability, people from ethnic minority communities and women are currently underrepresented in the Utility Regulator, we would particularly welcome applications from these groups.

We offer an attractive package including a competitive starting salary with stepped increases per annum, alongside a range of other benefits including hybrid working, NI Civil Service (NICS) pension arrangements and 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 days after two years) and an additional 12 public and privilege days.

Reserve lists may be created from this competitions in order to fill any additional roles which may arise and may be placed across the organisation.

Contact us at recruitment@uregni.gov.uk  if you would like to talk to someone about the work we do and what it’s like working here.
