Summary

The Utility Regulator, under Article 8(4) of the Gas (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 as amended, proposes to extend the licence area of firmus energy (Distribution) Limited.

The proposed extensions are to the Moy and Benburb Wards and will allow for the construction of the pipeline infrastructure necessary to facilitate the conveyance of gas to domestic and commercial properties in the vicinity of these wards.

The mains investment for the overall project is c£3.8 million and over time will make gas available to the Mackles Petfood plant, 2,661 existing residential properties and 207 small industrial and commercial properties.

This investment is in addition to the allowances granted as part of the current price control and is another example of the continuing growth and success of the natural gas industry in Northern Ireland.

Copies of the document will be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of relevant minority languages if required.
