Consultation on the implementation of contestability guidelines

Today the Utility Regulator publishes a contestability implementation guidelines consultation paper on implementing contestability in electricity connections within Northern Ireland. This will allow customers the choice of an alternative provider for some connections work known as ‘contestable work’.

The consultation version of the guidelines document has been prepared jointly by NIE Networks and SONI under the direction of the Utility Regulator following our contestability in connections decision paper issued on 31 July 2015.

The purpose of the paper is to seek views and comments on the guidelines. This document is most likely to be of interest to all parties owning, connecting to or providing connections to the electricity network in Northern Ireland.
