The Utility Regulator today gives notification of the new Gas (Individual Standards of Performance) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014. The regulations, having been made on 3 March 2014, will come into operation on 1 April 2014. The final regulations are the result of a public consultation carried out in August 2012, and a consultation on the drafting of the Regulations in November 2013. This legislation sets out standards of performance measures which gas companies must provide for their consumers and compensation for those consumers where the companies fall short of their required standards.
