The Utility Regulator, under Article 8(6) of the Gas (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 as amended, is publishing a notice in respect of an extension to the licensed area of firmus energy (Distribution) Ltd. The reason for the extension is to allow for the construction of the pipeline infrastructure necessary to facilitate the conveyance of gas to the Old Bushmills Distillery and also to domestic consumers, Northern Ireland Housing Executive consumers and commercial properties in the vicinity.
The publication of the notice follows a period of public consultation on the proposed extension. Two responses were received and can be viewed below.

Each response has been carefully considered. A detailed response from the Utility Regulator in respect of the main points raised can be seen in the Decision Paper.
Copies of the notice will be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of relevant minority languages if required.
