The Utility Regulator regulates the electricity and gas prices for customers of Power NI and SSE Airtricity Gas Supply (for the Greater Belfast area) and firmus energy (for the Ten Towns area). This means that we continuously monitor the components that make up their regulated electricity and gas tariffs and then approve any resulting tariff change when necessary.
A formal review has now commenced of regulated tariffs. It is expected that the reviews will conclude by the end of August to allow any changes to electricity and gas bills to take effect from 1 October 2018.
