Utility Regulator grants extension to Electric Ireland gas supply licence

In accordance with Article 8 of the Gas (NI) Order 1996, the Utility Regulator has today granted an extension  to the licence for the supply of gas in Northern Ireland held by ESB Independent Energy (NI) Limited T/A Electric Ireland. The extension will allow Electric Ireland an opportunity to supply gas to customers within the West Area when the network in the West Area has been developed.

On 16 November 2016, we published a notice, under Article 8(4) of the Order, of our intention to extend the licence.  We did not receive any responses to this notice.

A copy of Electric Irelands gas supply licence is available to view here.

Copies of the documents can be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of relevant minority languages if required.
