Energy Consumer Checklist published

The Utility Regulator (UR) is today publishing a revised European Consumer Checklist as committed to within our Consumer Protection Strategy.

Our Consumer Protection Strategy sets out plans and initiatives that focus on the long-term needs of domestic consumers and enhancing consumer protection. Reviewing the previous European Consumer Checklist is a Year 2 project within that Strategy, sitting under Objective 3: Empower consumers through education and transparency.

The European Consumer Checklist is a collection of questions and subsequent answers that aim to provide practical information to consumers concerning their rights in relation to the energy sector.

Through partnership working with the Consumer Council and engagement with the industry, the aim of our reviewed document is to update and improve the information available for consumers. We appreciate the co-operation of our stakeholders with their responses and input as we undertook the review.

The reviewed European Consumer Checklist will be available on the website of each network operator and supplier.
