Job description

The Utility Regulator is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Administrative Officer.

Working with the Wholesale Markets Directorate, you will provide timely and high quality administrative and general office support to the directorate as required including secretarial assistance to the Director of the Wholesale Markets directorate.  You will be required to perform such duties as are commensurate with this role and to undertake any other Officer level duties as may reasonably be required.

This role would suit a proactive individual keen to use their initiative to provide well-reasoned solutions in a challenging area of work.  You will already have the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and engage positively and constructively with internal and external contacts.

Contract:                    Fixed Term, full time (part-time and flexible working arrangements will be considered).

Hours:                        37 hours per week (UR operates a flexi-time system)

Salary:                        £25,211 - £30,493 per annum

Holidays:                    25 days, plus 12 public and privilege days

 

Essential Criteria

  1. A minimum of 2 years working experience in the provision of high quality administrative support services.
  2. Proven experience of working effectively within an admin role:  within tight deadlines; supporting senior management; and communicating effectively within a team, in a busy office environment.
  3. Proven experience and proficient use of office IT applications to include Outlook, MS word, Excel.
  4. Ability to demonstrate by examples, an understanding of and commitment to workplace values that align to those of the UR.

 

Desirable Criteria

In the event of a large number of applicants the following desirable criteria will be used as further shortlisting criteria:

  1. Proven experience of providing secretarial support including management of agenda and minute- taking.
