Decision under Article 14(8) of the Electricity (NI) Order 1992 for the Power NI Electricity Supply Licence

Today, we are publishing a Decision under Article 14(8) of the Electricity (NI) Order 1992 for the addition of a new Et term within Power NI’s electricity supply licence. Et terms are part of the financial arrangements within price controls.

This new Et term is a result of the delivery of the Energy Bill Support Scheme and Alternative Fuel Payment. The modification will allow Power NI to recover the costs incurred in delivering these UK Government schemes.

Prior to this decision, we published a consultation and notice setting out our intention to modify Power NI’s electricity licence. The purpose of this notice was to invite representations or objections to the modification.

We received two responses to our consultation:

Consumer Council for Northern Ireland

Power NI

Following careful review of these responses, we are now publishing our decision, under Article 14(8) of the Electricity (NI) Order 1992.

The modification will take effect from 1 April 2024.

Copies of all documents will be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of relevant minority languages if required.
