 
    
  We have published our latest newsletter which provides an update on our work during October.
In this edition, we bid a fond farewell to our departing Board Members, Jon Carlton and Alex Wiseman.
Alongside our day-to-day responsibilities, a busy month has brought valuable opportunities to connect face-to-face with our stakeholders and contribute to discussions at various events.
Our Chief Executive, John French was pleased to attend Energy Transition Europe 2025 on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 October in London.
Rosamund Blomfield-Smith, our Board Chair, was delighted to attend the Northern Ireland Assembly on Tuesday 21 October for a valuable exchange with Andrew Muir, Minister for the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.
On Thursday 23 October, we launched Northern Ireland’s Consumer Energy Charters for Winter 2025/2026 in partnership with gas and electricity supply companies, the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland, the Department for Communities, the Department for the Economy, Advice NI and Make the Call.
In October, we were also delighted to announce Air Ambulance Northern Ireland as our new corporate charity.
On Tuesday 28 October, we launched a consultation on our review of the Electricity Guaranteed Standards of Service and Overall Standards of Performance.
Throughout the month, we published a number of other important documents. These include:
- Two provisional orders on the Electricity generator, EP NI Energy Ltd (EPNIE) pursuant to Article 42 of the Energy (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 (3 October.)
- A SONI Evaluative Performance Framework: Annual Forward Plan 2025/2026 - call for feedback (6 October.)
- A decision on obligations placed on Northern Ireland’s Transmission System Operators (9 October.)
In this edition, we shine a spotlight on two valued colleagues: our departing Board Member, Jon Carlton, and our outgoing Head of Price Controls, John Mills.
We also feature a reflective piece from our departing Board Member, Alex Wiseman, who shares insights from his decade of service with the Utility Regulator.
